PHYSICAL

APPEARANCE: A few things are strikingly noticeable about Eve upon first appearance. Her height and her obnoxious hair. She has very thick, very curly, short hair, and she hasn't grown an inch since she was eleven.

The third striking feature upon first appearance is her accent. She has a cockney accent, she drops Hs, she turns Ths into Fs. Her manner of speak comes off as very forceful in speech alone. She can give you the nicest compliment, but the way she speaks will still make it sound forceful.

Beyond that, Eve dresses down outside of the uniform. She went to Hogwarts, so she's used to wearing uniforms that don't necessarily speak to her own personality. Not wearing cloaks is nice, though. Outside of the uniform, she wears jeans. She wears much more feminine shirts than she does pants, but her manner of dress is still strictly - not posh. Mostly notably, she also wears a pair of goggles strapped to her head. These goggles' only actual function is serving as a headband for her unruly hair, but she digs the aesthetic.

PERSONALITY

LIKES: steampunk, machinery, robots, airships, junk, quidditch, exercise, exhaustion, humor, anonymity, mysteries, wonder, dancing, hip hop, American rap, climbing, balancing, heights, movement

DISLIKES: the east end, poverty, the family name, snobs, purity, stereotypes, country, rip offs, limitation

PERSONALITY:

To Eve, limitation is an attribute to be grown out of. The world is a vast place, where reputation, appearances and wealth don't proceed you. Because you can think it, you can do it. This pertains to self growth, it pertains to inventions, it pertains to magic, and relationships. Innovation is what we as humans are at our core. If we are not innovating, then we are limiting ourselves and failing to live up to our potential.

She's exceedingly observant to the point that she is aware of it, and will go out of her way to observe things before forming her own opinion about nearly anything. This is the sole basis of her passion for dance. If she likes something, she will emulate it until she can add flavors of herself to it. Gymnastics taught her the limitations of her body, and she found that as humans - there are not a lot of limitations for her. There is drive and there is application. If you have enough drive and enough application, you can be impulsive and trust your own body to instinctively follow through - such as with parkour.

But outside of the physical body, she also has a mad respect for the human mind. That has a whole different application of it's own. It's a muscle. If you push it hard enough, it'll make beautiful shit.

Personally, Eve is not an entirely unapproachable person. Her remarks aren't especially cutting, her opinions aren't especially judgmental. She can survey a situation, or a relationship, and decipher it in the most blunt way possible, but she won't go out of her way to cut anybody down. She isn't vindictive or malicious.

Like most people, she also has an insane degree of loyalty. She feels like relationships are tempered. Every upset or complication is putting that relationship to the fire, and if it survives the fire, the relationship should be stronger. For people that have survived that fire with her, she will fight to the death for them. That doesn't protect them from serious complications relationship wise, but it does mean they will indefinitely have an ally in her. Sometimes just witnessing somebody else she's not connected to go through shit is enough to earn a special kind of approval from her.

But similar to her loyalty, she believes all humans are tempered. What we choose to do in our lives either makes us stronger, or - if we shy away from confrontation and learning - they soften us. That's why at Gooseberry, she has gone out of her way to complicate herself. She signed up for occlumency to strengthen herself, she's serious about quidditch to strengthen herself, she is learning the building blocks of spells to strengthen herself. If we aren't strengthening ourselves, then we're weakening ourselves and she's too young to limit herself now. She's got the rest of her life to cave to limitation.

SKILLS

LANGUAGES SPOKEN: English

PATRONUS: She obviously didn't exist for the in game ic/ooc, so she hasn't cast a patronus yet, but if or when she does - hers is an Iberian Lynx.

SKILLS:

  • Gymnastics, Dance: As a child, Eve was put in gymnastics classes, which stuck to a degree, but most of that degree is the ability and desire to climb tall structures and parkour to an extent. The flexibility of gymnastics grew into a desire to dance as she aged, but she's not classically trained. Her style of dance is predominantly hip hop and it's predominantly self taught by extensively watching other people and learning from what she sees. She has an awareness of her own body. (X)
  • Athletic: In addition to dance, Eve is also on the quidditch team. She has endurance and agility training. She can catch well and throw well. Outside of quidditch, she also jogs and exercises, and participates in Barr.
  • Automechanics: Eve's aesthetic is big clunky mechanical shit and how they run. To understand how they run, she's read a lot of engineering to that degree and mechanical constructs, and steam power. Sometimes that interact branches out to other fields, but it's still a selective, somewhat limited knowledge given her age and exposure.

  • HISTORY

    FAMILY MEMBERS:

Ludovic Bagman (Uncle, pureblood, previous quidditch player, previous Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports)
    Otto Bagman (Uncle, pureblood)
Oscar Bagman (father, 57, former Gryffindor, former quidditch player, pureblood)
Louis Bagman (mother, 43, former Hufflepuff, halfblood)
    Prudence Bagman (sister, 14, Gryffindor)
    Alfred Bagman (brother, 14, Slytherin)

    HISTORY:

Eve's family has acquired a bit of a reputation. Her uncle, famous for his career as an impressive quidditch player, spent a long duration of his life on the run or in hiding, for being a rather public swindler. He swindled people out of their money, and in the end, it cost him his job at the ministry and his reputation, along with his family's reputation as far as the goblin ran banking system is concerned. It's caused a bit of a problem for his remaining family.

Eve was born to Oscar, the youngest brother to Ludo and Otto Bagman. While her father experienced both fame and fortune as a professional quidditch player - a good quidditch player at that - he also inherited his brother's addiction to gambling and suspect life choices. In his youth, he was quite rich. He lived a relatively cushy lifestyle. He was backed by his pureblooded society and his career choices, but then he gave into the temptation of gambling and fell onto hardtimes. In quick succession, he suffered a career ending injury and developed an addiction to both addictive pain killing potions and gambling. In a matter of years, he gambled away the fortunes quidditch had given him and moved to the East End of London.

There he consorted with many types of people that his previous society would look down on. They were muggles, they were poor, and those that weren't muggle weren't anywhere near pure of blood. That's where he met his future wife, a native born East Londoner.

Eve was their first child, she was named after her grandmother, despite her father having gone nearly two decades since the last time he'd seen her at the time of Eve's birth. She grew up in East London and as a relic of a life he no longer lived, her father thought it would be nice to enroll her in gymnastics class, to give her a bit more culture outside of their environment.

Eve liked the gymnastics classes just fine. They were difficult and time consuming but she was up for the challenge. Once she received her acceptance letter to Hogwarts, she all but abandoned the classes, but a lot of what she learned during them stuck with her, especially the flexibility and strength conditioning.

Once at Hogwarts, Eve was sorted into Gryffindor. She had a fire in her and a firm voice to match it. She became self aware of her own body, and developed an appreciation for the arts, most notably dance and even more notably than that - American hip hop. Dance gave her an appreciation of complete exhaustion. Quidditch gave her that same level of exhaustion, when she made the house team in her third year.

While at Hogwarts, Eve began to evolve in ways she likely wouldn't have been able to evolve in East London. Poverty had a hardness to it that required the victims of it to harden themselves to it. Hogwarts didn't exist in that same level of poverty. It felt very much like a school she didn't deserve to attend, and it made her more assertive in her right to be there out of spite.

In her fourth year, she applied for a scholarship to an American school called Gooseberry, in search for what her father had meant to give her with gymnastics class. She wanted culture. She was developing a lot of interests that existed outside of the realm of Hogwarts and magic. She was interested in steampunk type creations, she was interested in dancing and music and how yanks played their quidditch, and she wanted to see the world before she was too old to enjoy it, but most notably - she just didn't want to go back to the East End just yet. When she went back - she wanted to know that - at least she'd been to America.

She didn't receive a scholarship that following year, which bummed Evangeline out, but she didn't stay bummed for long. She invested in her schooling and had the intention to apply for gooseberry every year until graduation if necessary. It wasn't necessary. She received a scholarship the following year and attended gooseberry for her junior year. It was a little school in the middle of nowhere Utah, that camped out in the middle of the woods. And it seemed pretty fucking cool. She missed some massive boss battle at the end of last year but it still seemed pretty cool. There were asshole ghosts this year. There were no chamber of secrets here and the ghosts didn't teach classes, but Evangeline was interested in seeing where this all goes.

But more notably, they offered more indepth classes that intrigued her more. They gave Occlumency lessons and spell construction. She stayed for the classes. She wanted to see that through. Eve wanted a nice bookend to mark what she's learned here at Gooseberry, and to do that, she has to actually graduate from it.

This current year so far is going good. She made first string on her house quidditch team, and the mysteries that surround this forest doesn't seem to be finished yet, and that's pretty cool. And even better - none of these Americans seem to know who the fuck Ludo Bagman is. It's a reputation that doesn't have to exist here.

    SCHOOL

    YEAR: Junior
    HOUSE: Ribbonfin. Gryffindor at Hogwarts.
SORTING: There's a lot of shades to Eve that don't fit into the typical Ribbonfin. She can be stubborn a lot of the time, and when she was sorted there was a fight for her from everybody but Azurcrest. She had a fire in her that correlated with Coppertale and Coppertale seemed like the most logical choice but she also had a intensity that correlated with Ebonhide. In the end, she basically said she was just gonna go with the fishes, because to her they seem to be the most self sufficient. There's a calm to a house that runs itself and does what it needs to get done. She's not a perfectionist, she's not competitive. She can be patient, and wait to see things through, and she wanted to be in a house that shared those same attributes instead of wasting her time with other more intense attributes.
WAND: 8 inch, Beech with Dragon Heartstring (Wand description: Steady, strict and strong. Especially good for Transfiguration, less suitable for charms. May point to owner's obsession with books, and his/her connection to working with written sources and to gaining and preserving information in general. Suits reasonably well for active magic defense and magic combat. Is acceptable for dark arts for it can successfully deal with ancient curses.)
FAMILIAR: a Turkish van cat named Prometheus.

CLASSES: Charms, Potions, Hermeticism, Transfiguration, History of Magic, Artificing, Defense Against the Dark Arts
ADVANCED STUDY: Occlumency. Eve signed up for this class because it feels very important to her. Coming from Hogwarts, with a history steeped in what Voldemort had done to that community, Eve wanted to take a class that would benefit her personally if anything anywhere near as bad as that happened to her personally. It seemed more important and more proactive than changing into an animal or divining the future, and it felt more like a class she thought she could do, rather than pre-healer studies. This would be the class that she takes the most serious.

SENIOR PROJECT: A fully functioning steam automaton. A lot of this is influenced by steampunk, which Eve thinks is hella cool, but she gets the added benefit of utilizing magic. She's going to mesh artificing, hermeticism, transfiguration, and simple science to create what she hopes to be a functioning mechanical spider that can act as a kind of companion or familiar without too much annoyance - or excessive upkeep - for the owner of the spider. She wants to create something that's core to a genre of literature just because it would be cool.
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE: Eve is doing pretty good academically. She legitimately enjoys a lot of theory based classes. She structured her schedule to include classes she either finds extremely important, or that she legitimately enjoys. History of Magic, with all these essays, is probably on the low end of enjoyment, but she likes Merrill so she doesn't entirely hate the class. Her favorite is definitely Artificing. She's impatient to know how to do all of this shit herself.

EXTRACURRICULARS: Quidditch, Archery, Crafting, Duelling and Fencing
